Poverty Is A Problem
Poverty is a huge problem not only in the U.S. but all over the world. There are BILLIONS of people living around the world in extreme poverty. Almost half the entire world lives with a household income of two and a half dollars a day!
Being in poverty can cause many issues not only physically but mentally too. Physically poverty can cause hunger or starvation, lack of education, no health care, and many more issues. According to Psychiatric Times Vol 35, Issue 6 by Kevin M. Simon, MD , Michaela Beder, MD , Marc W. Manseau, “poverty with children and adults can cause depressive and anxiety disorders.” Poverty in childhood can also lead to almost every psychiatric disorder in adulthood. Poverty sometimes leads to suicide because people in extreme poverty have no hope things will get any better.
Some organizations that fight poverty are Oxfam International, The Organization for Poverty Alleviation and Development, and Concern Worldwide. Oxfam International has 19 organizations that work around 90 countries. These organizations try to mobilize the power of people against poverty. Oxfam International finds innovative and practical solutions to end peoples poverty. Oxfam International fights for a world where everyone’s rights are heard.
Now that you have heard all of this think about how hard it is to be in poverty. Try donating to a charity or one of these organizations, to help people

This was vary interesting and i didnt know that poverty was this bad. If i ever can i will try and donate some money.
ReplyDeleteI like how many facts that you put in it, because it is nice to know a lot about things. I have read about poverty before, and know that there are a ton of people in it. I wonder in which country there is the most poverty?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. Burundi has the most poverty out of all the countries in the world. The majority of the people in Burundi live on $1.25 or less in a whole day. Also less than 5% of the population in Burundi live with electricity.

DeleteIt is depressing that there are billions of people living in poverty, but it is good that there are organizations creating solutions to end poverty. When I see people living in poverty, it saddens me thinking about how they live with nothing, and become extremely disordered. Are there any organizations to donate to that support the ending of poverty?
ReplyDeleteYeah, it makes me sad too. There are many organizations that help to end poverty. Oxfam international is one of them. You can just search it up on google and it will take you to their website to donate.
